Hello my lovelies, well it’s been over a week since my last post. Alas, life has been very very busy of late and as much as I hate neglecting my blog, there are times when other things take priority.
It was my birthday on Saturday – not just any birthday but a MILESTONE birthday. And as much as it kills me to accept that getting older is simply inevitable, I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that it’s better than the alternative. Plus? I’m still being mistaken for 10 years younger. So ya know, I guess I can say THANK YOU MOM for that.
My friend who sent this amazing bouquet to my work asked for a beautiful exotic bunch of flowers with the largest tackiest birthday balloon they had attached. Ahh, so thoughtful. |
So instead of having a big party or a crazy ass night out, we decided to steal away to the wilds of Shropshire with a few of my closest friends that I hadn’t seen in ages to a little cabin with an outdoor hottub in the middle of a farm. I have to say, I so thoroughly loved it!
The Neighbours weren’t entirely sure what was going on. |
I got lovely gifts like this beautiful watch from my guy…
And an ironic birthday cake. Because ya know, that’s what friends do for friends.
Notice one of their eyes was immediately gorged out. |
We talked nonstop, ate great homemade food, drank loads and laughed lots.
The guys take a dip even in the snow! |
And then, when everyone else went home on Sunday and the snow had miraculously cleared, Wayne and I had the place all to ourselves for the night and drank champagne in the hottub under the stars and a full moon. We even got a lovely rainbow that afternoon. It was a lovely way to spend a birthday.
In other news, earlier in the week, I was invited to the headquarters of Graham and Brown and spent a lovely day with the design team and gawked at their fabulous offices. Such a great environment with lots of really passionate, creative and thoroughly friendly people. I’ll be covering that on the work blog soon so keep an eye out for that.
What else happened last week? Well, we’ve got a new regular contributor to the @Home blog! It’s the multi-talented Carole of Mademoiselle Poirot who will be providing weekly recipes and crafts to try yourself. Carole is a long time favourite blogger of mine and I’m absolutely thrilled she’s joining me over there!! Last week, she provided a tutorial to make this gorgeous ruched fabric wreath…
And this week, it’s a gorgeous Spicy Lamb dish, which is the perfect comfort food when the weather is still a little bit dull and dreary. Go over and say hello and make her feel welcome!
I’m also really excited to be attending Meet The Blogger in Stockholm this weekend! I’ve never been to Stockholm before and I can’t wait to meet lots of fellow bloggers, take in a great city and learn some great tips at the workshops!
So, as you can see, things have been a little crazy lately and it probably won’t slow down for at least another week or so! If I’ve not been able to pay a visit to your blog, I do apologise but as soon as life slows down a little bit, I’ll make sure I say hello.
I also wanted to say a very big thank you for all the lovely comments, emails and messages on my last post. I really enjoyed picking up a paint brush again and I have a feeling this isn’t the last of it you’ll see here. So stay tuned for more.
Well, that’s me at the moment! Starting the new year with lots of interesting things has definitely meant that this month has brought me anything but the January blues! How’s your January coming along?

Happy birthday my friend! THAT sounds like a fantastic weekend. That picture of the sheep made me laugh out loud. HE knows what's up.
Happy Birthday!!! What an awesome way to spend it, especially with the snow – champers + hot tub + snow sounds incredible!! And for some (really bizarre) reason that pic with the sheep made me feel really homesick…strange as I did not live with sheep back home, ha.

You have had a crazy week, we shall let you off this time! Looking forward to a snoop around Graham & Brown next
HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY!! What a perfect way to spend it. That is definitely my idea of the perfect birthday celebration. And how magical that all that snow was done in the morning and you saw a rainbow!? Somebody loves you, thats for sure ;) If you find any time at all, I just posted a fun and easy craft idea for Valentine's Day if you want to repay your man! Have the best time at your workshop!
