So a couple of months ago, I was contacted by Argos to see if they could work with me. I admit. I was hesitant at first. I mean, Argos is great for basics (you want some nice plastic containers for your lunch? Sure! A set of inexpensive white plates? Go for it! An air drying rack for laundry? Definitely). But in terms of homeware, I wasn’t really sure if they were the place I’d shop first. And for me, any time I work with a company, I want to make sure that it’s somewhere I would and am happy to recommend to you guys.
Well, I was chatting to a friend about my dilemma and she told me she’d recently bought a really gorgeous mirror from their range. Hmm. I hadn’t thought to look there. So I thought I’d have a little look to see what they had. Well, it turns out Argos range of mirrors is massive. Whattyaknow.
I realised very quickly that these beauties would actually look rather wonderful in a trio and would sort out that pesky blank wall situation that I’ve been struggling with for months on end. It was definitely a case of Argos to the rescue!
So with the addition of the radiator cover from Jali and these lovely Venetian style mirrors, I am very happy to say that the blank wall in my living room is no more.
I’m still not happy with the little white chest of drawers in the alcove because I feel it is too small now for that space (especially when balanced with the TV cabinet on the opposite side) but I ended up painting out the radiator cover to match the wall colour and I think it’s a little less imposing than it was when it was white.
I added a little print on the chest of drawers recently by Becky Lord which brightens up that spot in the meantime.
Oh and speaking of prints, I realised I never shared the (finally properly) framed ‘Bonjour’ print above my sofa. I’m sure the artwork has changed about 30 times in the last 2 years in that spot but I’m pretty happy with it now.
Since then, I actually purchased a number of items to style a photoshoot for Jude’s home in AO at Home from Argos (those cute jars, towels and baskets? Yep, Argos). And the little baskets in that shoot actually made their way into my dressing room. So it turns out Argos actually does have some really rather lovely things at amazing prices. Definitely worth checking out.
I thought maybe it would be good to share a little before and after action! The first is what it looked like last year when I was moaning about the wall. And of course, this is what it looks like now.
I’m pretty happy that wall is finally looking like it belongs in the rest of the room!
Ever considered looking at Argos for homewares? What do you think of the mirror solution?
This post is in association with Argos who allowed me to choose something from their full range free in exchange for my review. All opinions, words, images as always are my very own. Thanks so much for supporting the companies that support Swoon Worthy!
Perfection. Reflects the awesomeness of this room…Loving it!
Love, love, love the mirrors. I would never have thought to look at Argos for home wares.
They look fantastic, I have used Argos over the year's and they have got better. They look great in the room. We've had some good lighting from there. Xxx
The mirrors look great! I've been using Argos more since they added a line by Habitat- the folding garden chairs are beautiful and a ruddy bargain at Β£10 each. xxx
They are just right! Like they were made for the space!!
No way! I don't believe it. I'm going to have to go check their website to make sure you are telling the truth haha. I had no idea Argos has such stylish pieces, that is seriously a turn up for the books. LOVING that wall now Kimberly, it's really looking fabulous nice job. The radiator cover really makes it also – I'm looking for a good source of these in the UK right now so
FABULOUS! Love the mirrors
I adore the result. Mirrors are so transformative to a room, they are beautiful features as well as adding so much light. I love that you used 3. The room is so full of character and style. You must be thrilled :O)
It looks so beautiful! Those mirrors are perfect for that wall – and that radiator cover makes such a difference – it's so pretty. I love how in your pictures of the mirrors they're all reflecting a lovely item from the room – plant, turquoise curtain, star/sunburst mirror… then… pictures and wallpaper, turquoise curtain, plant. Looks so good! (Maybe it helps that your room is
