After I revealed the new wardrobes in the bedroom, I shared a sore point that also desperately needed to be addressed. I had removed the previous light fitting that had been too big and subsequently sold it but hadn’t decided on a new one to take its place. In my post, I talked about some of the choices I was considering and that I had two main favourites. Unfortunately, neither were affordable at the time.

Well, I have to say, you guys STEPPED UP. I received a bunch of comments sharing a few great sources for light fixtures and further, received a number of emails from various lovely peeps sharing some other wonderful light fittings that could fit the bill for the space – both physically as well as financially. Y’all rock my world for real – thank you all. One such reader, Lizzy from Living Pretty (go check out her blog btw because she’s got fab taste), sent me an eBay listing for one of my main choices – the Dar Atticus that I’d been in love with for years. It was new but out of the original packaging. It normally sells for around Β£520 (ouch) but the eBay listing had a ‘Buy It Now’ for Β£138. I MEAN WHAT?! That was a savings of over Β£300 even with the shipping of Β£15 tacked on. I couldn’t hit that ‘buy’ button fast enough.

The light fixture actually turned up fairly quickly and this weekend, Wayne put it up for me. I need to get the lightbulbs for it (I know, I’m horribly impatient) but those should turn up soon so we’ll finally have a proper light in here again – yay! However, that didn’t stop me from taking like a million pictures of it to share with you guys.

I love how well it goes with all the other gold bits and pieces in the room – it pulls in that ornate gold mirror and the little starburst mirror above the bed as well as the gold frames on the prints and just feels like it was made for the space. The size is great as well – big enough that it grabs your attention but not so big as to overwhelm the space (which unfortunately, is what my previous one did).

I’m seriously in love with it. It’s exactly what I wanted for this space – something gold, glam and statement-making and this beauty does all of that and more. So just a HUGE thank you to Lizzy for sending me that link and a huge thanks to all you guys for the messages. I still need a light fixture for the dressing room and I’m saving a few other options for when I get around to that so I’ll share those when that finally happens.

In the meantime, what do you think of the new light fixture? Is it what you would have chosen for this space? Find any amazing bargains on eBay lately? Go on, share.
