So this little post is actually an entry for a contest. The lovely peeps of Fashion for Home have a competition at the moment that any UK blogger can join to win Β£500 to spend from their website. Not too shabby eh?
The only thing you have to do is share a little corner of your home that you love. Well, you’d think that’d be easy but goodness, there are lots of little corners that I love… I mean, that’s what home’s all about right? Having lots of spaces that you feel are a true reflection of who you are and what you’re about… so yeah this wasn’t easy.
In the end, I decided to go for this one…
It’s the room we spend the most time in and the room that I feel really reflects who we are and how we live. There has been a few little changes since this picture was taken (we’ve finally got a rug and the gallery wall is now complete, both of which I’ll share soon) but the pictures on the wall, the collections of objects, my little vintage bar cart, stacks of design books – it’s just us through and through (well, ok, the design books are all me!).
Lots of colour, leopard print, sunburst mirror and lots of brass – that’s the kind of stuff that floats my boat and it’s all here. It’s a room we both love and I’m actually kind of proud of it. It’s a fabulously sociable place as well – when we have company, everyone congregates around the table, drinks are poured, the television is used for music (everything is connected to the computer and our vast collection of MP3s – that’s all Wayne’s doing!) and with the room open to the kitchen, there’s no missing out on the fun.
