Sing it with me! “It’s the most…. colourful time….of the yeeeeear…” Okay, I know that’s not how it goes but let’s just pretend, shall we?
I love spring. I actually love it more than summer simply because there’s like some kind of HOPE attached to it. That soon, the sun will shine and it will be warm and we’ll get to sit on our deck with a cold beer of an evening and just listen to the birds. Whether that actually happens in Manchester this year has yet to be seen (last year’s summer was pretty freaking awful and cold and rainy while the year before was actually really rather pleasant so it’s a bit of a crapshoot) but at this point, that hope is still there and hasn’t been dashed. So yes, for me, this season is my absolute favourite because of the sheer expectation that maybe, just maybe, it’ll be a pretty great summer.
I also love this time of the month because I get to share all of YOUR fabulous colourful pictures and always get inspired by all the gorgeous images. Yes, #colorshare is back again! Hurrah!
How pretty is that pot of flowers? I don’t think I’ve shopped for flowers for MONTHS now but as Spring is officially here, I couldn’t resist picking up a few small bunches and the blushy pink carnations, freesia and roses just spoke to me and said BUY ME YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. And I haven’t. I also decided to spray paint my glass bubble vase in gold (of course) as I’ve had it for quite some time now and the glass was starting to get really cloudy and I couldn’t be bothered trying to bring it back to it’s former glory. And anyway,Β I’ve wanted a gold vase for a while now so this was the chosen one for it. Love the texture.
Annnnyway, enough rambling about pretty flowers and vases and the joys of spring.
If you arenβt familiar with #colorshare, then let me explain. Every month, my trans-Atlantic style sister, Shannon of Burlap and Lace and IΒ have the very difficult task of choosing our favourite Instagram images that have used the hashtag and share them with you on our blogs! Itβs our little way of banishing the beige and bringing a little more colour into our lives and getting you guys involved to help us do the same! So if you love colour as well, then please do use the hashtag for your chance to be featured! Weβve had well over 1200 people using the hashtag already and you have no idea how excited that makes me!
Alas, Shannon has sadly had to deal with a family emergencyΒ so she’s had to bow out of this month. However, that does mean I have twice the number of favourites to share with you. So while we send lots of love and positivity to Shannon’s family, we’llΒ get started, shall we?
I fell in love with this little shelfie styling from Meera. A little greenery goes a long way, doesn’t it?
To really get you in a Spring mood, how stunning is this shot by Chris? A tree full of blossoms is the quintessential start of the season for me and while we haven’t quite had warm enough temperatures for this, I’m living vicariously through her shot. So pretty.
Hello March ???. All in favor of Spring, say “I”! . . #springiscoming #spring #flowers

Pretty spring fireplace mantle styling with tulips by Natasha. You can’t go wrong with a bit of blushy pink either in the form of Farrow & Ball’s Middleton Pink on the walls. Hell yeah.
How clever is this camera case hack by Susie? I adore the idea and she has the full tutorial on her blog as well – so easy but just so pretty. I now am thinking I totally need a new camera case so I can decorate it in flowers.

Loving the boho glam vibe in this image by Stephanie.Β How stunning is that pop of orange against blue for an instant hit of colour?
I’m also loving the moody vibes of these deep teal walls in the home Karen designed. I want to sit with a snifter of brandy (neat, of course) and tinkle the ivories. Never mind that I don’t drink brandy nor do I play the piano – this is fantasy, okay? Jeesh.

Because sometimes all a space really needs is a pop of red – fact. Adore how this neutral space byΒ KataΒ is totally lifted by the inclusion of that bag. The artwork and that chest of drawers is pretty damn fabulous as well.
I love the styling of this pretty vignette by Maggie. That pink and gold thing is a lamp base and now I want it.

Love the California Boho vibe of this whole image by Irene but that rug is just everything.
We totally need more pink buildings in this country too, Natasha. Adore this shot of a blushy pink graceful building in Milano, Italy which has got me feeling a very strong wanderlust. I must travel more!

Speaking of travel, maybe Cuba instead? How utterly glorious is Hotel Saratoga as captured by Meg? I want to live inside of this picture.

Aw thanks for including me- have followed everyone you’ve listed here. And I’m in total agreement about the flowers. Think I’ll buy myself a huge bunch when I get over this bloody cold!
Flowers are known to speed up recovery in hospital patients! So I reckon you should treat yourself asap! ;) Feel better soon hun! xxx
Kim, what a nice surprise to find my spring flowers featured along side so many other lovely choices! Thank you so much. I’ll have a huge smile on my face all day! I love your blog.
Aww thank you for sharing it with us! Such an amazing shot – you need to print that one and hang it on the wall, it’s just beautiful! And thank you – that’s so kind of you!! Happy weekend ;) xxx
I’m singing with you! Such a treat for the eyes, this beautiful colourful post! I love this time of the year too, when it is LIGHT when I wake up and when I have my dinner, and everything is slowly becoming bright and colourful after what feels like an age of darkness and dullness (I hate winter!). Casbury’s image of spring blossom has me all heart-eyed! I LOVE the different pink flowers in your gold-sprayed vase, I’m going to buy a few bunches of pink flowers next time I go to the shops! It cheers up the space so much, doesn’t it? Susie’s camera case makeover is so clever and pretty – now I want to get a white one and faux tattoo it too! I absolutely love the dark cosy space Karen designed – can I join you there with a whisky? And then we can fly off to Hotel Saratoga in Cuba ;-). Thank you SO much for including my shelfie among such beautiful company, I’m chuffed to bits! :-)
I hate winter too and love the Spring for your exact reasons! I got up early this morning and at half 6, it was already light out – happy days! Makes everything so much better ;) Yes, go get yourself some flowers, they’ve been cheering me up all week! I’m liking your travel plans – when shall we set off?? :D xxx
