As you may recall from my post last month, I’ve teamed up with some incredibly talented bloggers for a brand new Instagram series using the hashtag #fearlesshome. We wanted you to share with us different ways that you’ve exercised a bit of fearlessness in your decorating style and in turn, we’d be sharing our favourites across all our blogs as well as on our Instagram accounts!
This is so inspiring to me as well because I believe you can be different and you can express your personality in your space and you should be able to do all that without feeling like if it doesn’t look like everything you see on Pinterest, you are somehow WRONG. There is no wrong here – your home, your rules!
Can I just say first of all how difficult it was to choose a few favourites to share? So so so many amazing designs on this hashtag! From gorgeous rooms to stunning vignettes, I was so truly inspired by so many (and there were over 800 posts that used the hashtag!). I’m sure I added about 20 newΒ accounts to follow, possibly more. However, choose favourites I must and with that, here are my favouritesΒ this month:
I get so swayed by boho style that I couldn’t help but gasp when I saw this beautiful maximalist space by @eclecticeverything. The hanging bird cages, the huge statue, the gorgeous vintage lamps, the plants. It all works together so wonderfully.
If you aren’t already familiar with @nicholnaranjo’s feed, you need to get on that right now. Everything she touches is just magic and she has so many incredible ideas throughout her home.Β I pretty much just want to take her entire outdoor space and transport it into my garden.
I’ve never been adverse to a jolt of yellow in a room but @thejonesfix takes it to a new level with that gorgeous mustard yellow sofa. Who says you have to go neutral with your couch, right? I adore how Layne pulled the yellow from those beautiful stained glass windows into the space. Also, I need to know where she got those hanging planters fromΒ STAT.
Talk about breaking rules, this incredible graphic painted floor by @mepflug shows you can have fun with paint on pretty much any surface. Adding pattern to the floor is such a wonderful way to add interest to any space and here, Meg created an oversized statement that lifts the entire room.
And finally, the wonderfully talented @kara_evans proves just how fantastic eclecticism works. An 80’s style coffee table, contemporary artwork and cushions, mid-century lighting and 70’s boho really can all work wonderfully together. Her feed was a new discovery for me and I’m absolutely taken with her fearless style!
As I said, there were SO MANY great designs to choose from that narrowing it down to 5 was pretty much impossible but it had to be done! Where’s your fearless home? We want to see it! Be sure to use the hashtag #fearlesshome in your Instagram posts (and be sure your account is set to public so we can see them!) for a chance to be featured each month!
