Well, here we are and it’s the end of October! How has your autumn been so far? Summer seemed to lull me into a state of comfortable bliss and then the Autumn began and things just always go a bitΒ mental until the run up to the new year. I’ve been busy working away on lots of various things including of course, the kitchen remodel (I PROMISE I’ll have an update for you next week and yes, we’re very nearly done!) andΒ pulling together the last bits for the Autumn refresh for the bedroom. I’m also working on a full redesign of my blog and branding behind the scenes which I’m SO freaking excited about! More on that one soon too!
I also got to spend a few days in London recently as you know and went to the launch of the lovely Emily from The Pink House’s collaboration with The Style Studio at River Island on Oxford Street. She designed the bar area in her quintessential style with lots of vintage glam, neon flamingos, Buster and Punch lighting and a huge range of plants creating a stunning display. We had the most fabulous pink cocktails being prepared for us too which I shared on my Instagram Stories. It was a very good night and I’m so proud of my friend for creating something so gorgeous!
After the launch, Bianca from French for Pineapple and I went to Bob Bob Ricard for some (more) cocktails. The prices are ridiculous (Β£15 for one drink!) but oh my goodness, the atmosphere is incredible and worth every penny just to soak up David Collin’s masterpiece of design.
Of course, the highlight was the Amara Interior Blog Awards the following evening which I talked all about here so I won’t bore on about it again! Still, it was an incredible night and one I won’t soon forget!
So just as a little shout out for the link love from some of the websites that featured me, I have to say thanks and encourage you to check out the following:
- Amara Interior Awards posted their Top 25 Posts of September whichΒ included my 2017 Interior Design Trends post. There’s some other really great content on there from other bloggers too!
- I was also interviewed on Vuelio’s website where I talked about the business of blogging and how I work with PRs and Brands so if you are a fellow blogger, you may find some info in there that may be helpful!
- Apartment Therapy also included a fabulous home I visited last year (you can see the whole thing here, it’s freaking amazing) in their roundup of 13 Bright & Airy Rooms with One (Unexpected) Thing in Common. The common thread? Every one uses black walls! I KNOW.
As per usual, Iβve been chatting about interiors for various websites over the past month and so Iβm rounding them up to make it easy for you to have a look when you get some time this weekend and fancy a bit of light reading! Of course, I wouldnβt expect anyone to read ALL of these but if something catches your eye, then Iβd love for you to have a little look. Each link opens in a new window so you can just click the ones you like the look of and go back to it later!

So this weekend will mostly be spent creating an Autumn tablescape for a DIY post, getting some new appliances for the kitchen from AO.com (!!), making some gorgeous slow cooked chilli for an AO post as well and finishing off the bedroom refresh! If I have time, I might start painting the kitchen as well but I have a feeling that may be next weekend now because a girl’s gotta have some Netflix time, ya know? I’ve been watching Black Mirror and Charlie Brooker is just an evil twisted genius.
What have you got planned? Any exciting highlights from October you fancy sharing? What ya watching on Netflix lately? Go on, you know I love your comments!
