Hello my lovelies. Goodness, here we are, less than a week until Christmas and I’m wondering where the heck the year went! I’m sure it’s a sign of getting older but it really seems to fly by faster and faster with each passing year. I’m sure I just watched Elf like 2 months ago?! Ahh well, pass the chocolates.
I have most of my Christmas shopping all done so this week will be all about the last minute things – finishing up my wrapping, prepping for some of the food/treats we’ll be serving on the big day and watching all the Christmas films we haven’t yet indulged in. Plus, of course, as much obligatory mince-pie-face-stuffing and Bailey’s-drinkingΒ I can get away with, without having to buy myself another wardrobe.
As I do every year, I’m taking a little break from the blog over the festive period. It’s a great way for me to recharge my batteries, clear my head and make some goals for the new year. I think as bloggers, we sometimes forget that it’s okay to take some time out for yourself. That the time away means coming back with a renewed spirit, plans and new ideas. I only take a few weeks off the blog each year – once in summer and once at this time – and it’s the best thing I can do for myself and my blog. I love my blog and I love you guys more than I can express but well, it’s good to step back at least for a bit and reassess and appreciate what you have done and where you are going. So that’s the plan again this year.
In the meantime, as I missed my ‘Something for the Weekend‘ post in November (oops) and I haven’t yet done one for December, I figured I’d leave you with some light reading of blog posts I’ve written for my lovely clients (who keep this blog going by paying my bills as much as you guys do for hanging out with me and visiting and commenting!) and hopefully, you can gain a bit of inspiration whilst I’m away if you fancy it.
