So this will be a bit of a rambling post today as my brain is completely melted this week!Β Between the bathroom remodel planning and deliveries (goodness, my home looks like a warehouse at the moment with the amount of BOXES EVERYWHERE) and the AO at Home blog redesign which is in full swing, my brain is a little in meltdown!
In between my chattering, I thought I’d share some of my pictures of the beautiful peonies from my garden that I’ve now dotted around my dining room…
Through all the chaos, despite the moaning and the brain melting, I’m aware that it’s all really good and really positive nonetheless.
The complete redesign of the AO at Home blog is going to be SO GOOD and the goal is to get the design element nailed down this week.Β I’m working with Manchester-based web designers Gumball who have done some wonderful design work in the past including this site, Me & My Wedding, so I knew they could take on the balance between something that looks professional but also feminine and accessible and not too ‘corporate’.
The first drafts that have come back are like a dream come true, especially when I’ve been working within the confines of a not-particularly-well-designed site for so long.
As I’ve said in the past, Swoon Worthy is my baby but AO at Home is like my foster child.Β And seeing my foster child get it’s own grown up look is so entirely satisfying.Β I feel incredibly privileged that AO trust me and my vision enough to make the investment in this new design so when it’s launched, I’ll probably beΒ nagging begging gently encouraging you guys to jump over and have a look.Β Soon, peeps, soon! :)
In other news, there hasn’t been any more physical progress on the bathroom but we now have nearly all the elements we need to just get on with the work.Β The goal is to have the bathroom remodel completed by the end of the month!!Β I know that sounds like a crazy tall order but I’ve got a photoshoot at the end of the month (!!) and I REALLY want it done by then if not only for the fact that the house needs to be immaculate for it – more news on that one later ;)
So that’s my week so far!Β How’s your week progressing?Β Love pink peonies as much as I do?Β Especially when their free?Β Do tell…
P.S.Β Google Reader shut down on 1st July.Β I don’t wanna lose you!Β Here’s a fantastic post on how to import the blogs you read to either Feedly or Bloglovin’.
It all looks so beautiful and sophisticated! Gorgeous
It's hard to believe those flowers are real they are just perfect little blooms. Beautiful pics as always!
Another photo shoot? Nothing like a camera and photographer coming over to get things moving with the bathroom!

Glad you are having fun with the AO blog makeover. I need to hop over there and get caught up!
Love the first picture, the contrast against the dark wall is stunning! I'm sure you'll get the bathroom done by then and if not, then that's probably the "least important" room anyway ;-) Yes, I can imagine that you might feel a little frazzled, but – as you said – it's all great stuff, so stop your moaning ;-) xo
those peonies are so gorgeous! good luck getting the bathroom done – I can't wait to see it. and a new blog design is always exciting too :)
– jackie @ jade and oak
You are busy my friend! Can't wait to see the new blog design, that is always a huge task. And on top of the bathroom reno? Good god girl your good!
Hi, I'm new to your blog and am really enjoying catching up. In particular I was thrilled to see that your bath is in the same awkward position as mine (below a window). At last someone to share the problem of accumulated water and the dreaded mould with! I see that at the moment you have a white roller blind which I have considered. Do you plan to keep that once your bathroom is all lovely?
Hi Denise, so sorry for my late reply! Nice to 'meet' you! :) To be honest, I'm not sure if we'll be keeping the roller blind or not. We got a waterproof blackout blind there so that you can't see through it at night (our neighbours home is pretty close to ours and we didn't want to be giving out free shows – well not without payment ;)) so it made sense at the time.
Where is the painting from!? Amazing
Aww thank you! It's one I made myself: http://www.swoonworthy.org/2013/01/adventures-in-painting-abstract.html

xxx
Is the painting you referred to behind the bar? I love it. How did you get that effect? I also live your peonies. I wish we could grow them but it's too hot. :-(
It is yes! Lots of paint! lol I'm looking at selling them at some point so stay tuned ;) xxx
I love the painting also!
