I hadn’t actually planned on filming another video until later in the month but I did a little impulse shopping on Friday and when I got home, I just knew I had to share my buys with you so I figured I’d create a little ‘haul’ video! I didn’t want to just share my finds, I also wanted to talk about my thought process when I purchase little things for my home and how I ensure IΒ won’t have to return anything once I get those bags home! ;) You’ll also hear my tips on the easiest ways to refresh your space, how to get the most from a splurge and what to look for when you buy accessories.
I’m also sharing two fabulous blogs that I love and if you aren’t yet reading them, you really should be!!
So I’d love for you to give it a bit of a watch and I’d love to hear what you thought of everything.

In the meantime, did you get up to any shopping this weekend? What’s the last great thing you bought? Any favourites of the things I purchased? I’d love to hear from you!
*Oh and this NOT sponsored by John Lewis or anything like that – I purchased all this with my own hard-earned cash just in case! ;)
LOVE the lobster :) I’m a big fan of random brass animals, I found a couple of brass ducks carrying umbrellas in a charity shop last year that are now pride of place in my daughter’s room. I really feel like I’m missing out here in Ireland without John Lewis, I think a trip to Belfast is in order! Thanks for sharing :)
Brass animals are the BEST!! I have loads too and my little animal army is just growing ;) Thanks so much for your comment Linda! xxx
Great video Kimberly! Spookily I’ve been on a house fragrance binge recently too and am also the proud mother of two brass lobsters (and a crab, a poodle, a horse…..er I might have a problem??!!). Mwah!
Aww thank you Bianca my love! Yay for animal armies! I have loads – elephants, peacocks, cranes, turtles – all sorts! I don’t think you can ever have enough ;) xxx
I know that alot of people will say this, but i’m glad i’m not the only one that buys things because the packaging looks good, and then puts it on display, thanks Kimberly, you made me feel a lot better lol xx. Ilove the videos you are doing, but it won’t let me subscribe. Xxx
Hahaha! No you are definitely not alone there Pauline – I’m so bad for it, such a sucker for pretty packages ;) And THANK YOU for saying that! I’m sorry it won’t let you subscribe, I think you have to have a Google account maybe? If you have one and you are signed in, then you should be able to see the button (I think!) – hope that helps! xx
Great video. Funnily enough, I was just about to comment and ask you to show us how you would use the bits you bought, and then you said you would show us in your next video! Good news, looking forward to watching that soon. I think JL has really upped it’s interiors/house game recently and got some good stuff in, especially brass bits and pieces, which I love. My only reservation is that I think my house might resemble a ‘bric a brac’ stall (and not in a good way! I am really curious to see how you manage to use stuff like this properly in your house. (Actually thinking about it, I think my problem is that everything is the same size in my house and therefore looks a bit bitty?. Anyway, bring it on!
Thanks so much darling! I was really surprised at how many great things JL had in the shop – I could have easily spent more but my ‘treat yo self’ day had a budget on it – hahaha! As for accessories, yes, I think you probably already called it – I used to do the same thing with all my bits and bobs being the same sort of size. And now I look for things in all different sizes – some tall stuff, some little stuff and everything in between. It really helps to have a variety of things in different sizes, shapes, textures and finishes to create a great vignette :) HTH!! xxx
Love the gold peanut! And also the video. Never realised John Lewis sold such inexpensive accessories – they look high end
Thanks so much Nic! Yes, I was surprised myself, there were so many thing in store that I would have easily picked up for my home, I’m now itching to go back ;) xxx
John Lewis have some pretty cool things in lately. I bought the brass effect crab a couple of months ago..love it…Saw the giant gold peanut but think didn’t want to overkill the gold look, so left it be…nice buys! Sharon
Thanks Sharon! And yes, the crab was adorable as well! Oh as far as I’m concerned, you can never have too much gold – ha! ;) xxx
Oh my god I am all over the brass peanut and lobster! right up my street! Gotta love John Lewis! Thanks for sharing these gems!
xxx
Thanks hun! I know, they have such good stuff, really upping their game lately I think ;) xxx
The videos are way fun. Like a quick visit. Interesting to see that you really are having an off summer weather wise. Your wearing jeans, long sleeves and boots! It’s been glorious here in NY. Finally. (Don’t count today, it’s pouring).
Cool, so happy you like them Nadine! And YES can you see I’m not lying about the weather? It’s been COLD! I haven’t even bothered putting away my winter wardrobe *sob sob* ;) xxx
THE LOBSTER!!! Love the video format and had fun watching it. You really rock this whole vlogging thing! xo
Awww thank you darling!! xxx
Kimberly, aren’t you just the most adorable thang! I am catching up on my fave blog reading now that I have a cold in the summer after vacation!!! WHAT THE WHAT!? Hate that but it is a good excuse to lay around and rest up with some blog reading. Thank you so very much for the lovely shout out! That was incredibly awesome and I am so glad you found something similar in the UK. Ok that peanut. Now I want a gold peanut. This John Lewis store looks amazing. Now, you are always talking about stores we have here, but I want to go to that one! All fab things my friend! xo
Oh no! Summer colds are the worst – I hope you are feeling better (but then also, good excuse to milk it a little and rest up!) ;) And you’re welcome – thanks for being so inspiring! JL has always been a little more old fashioned/traditional but they are upping their game lately so I’m happy! Ha! ;) xxx
