Hello lovelies! And for those of you who are trailblazing the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tour and have come here from the sweet, funny and super creative Cassie ofΒ Primitive and Proper, welcome to Swoon Worthy! Today is a bit special for me because it’s the first time I’m participating in the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tour hosted by the lovely Lyndsay of The White Buffalo. There are 30 home tours in total (!!!) and some AHMAZING blogger homes you get to peek at and I’m honoured that she’s invited me to join in the fun this time around.
So while so many are still battling the crazy heat of summer, here in Manchester, England, we’ve got proper Autumn temperatures – the air has that crispness that I actually love and the leaves are starting to turn and fall. For me, that means incorporating a few darker colours and adding additional textures to my home.
Now, for the most part, I really only changed upΒ a few rooms in my home – the living room and dining room andΒ I’ve made some further changes to theΒ bedroom – so today I’ll concentrate on those two main living spaces and give you peek at the bedroom (more of that on Monday). I willΒ warnΒ you now – I’m not really one to put out pumpkins or autumn leaves or use burlap or plaids or anything like that. My style is definitely a bit more colourful and glam ;)
But I do make some simple swaps and change things around a bit to keep things fresh to my eyes and a change of season is the perfect time for me to do that. Oh, hang on, I did get some cranberry mums and eucalyptus! So at least there’s that!
So let’s start with the living room. I decided to change up the art on my wallpapered chest of drawers by going a little bit darker than the more pale colours that were there over the summer. IΒ swapped the lampshade to a dark red and I moved my fabulous Leigh Viner print (originally in my dressing room) above and added a ‘tobacco’ candle from Homesense which actually smells gorgeous and just like autumn! I am looking at these pictures now and the lampshade is probably reading a bit too ‘red’ so I might actually swap it out for a black lampshade – watch this space… (oh and btw, if you are new here: nothing stays the same around here too long!).
I purchased a couple of goat hair rugs for the wicker hoop chairs to warm those up and bring in some texture too.
I wanted to bring some darker tones into the room so added this black and white striped cushion. Leopard print and monochrome stripes are both neutrals in my book!
Of course, on every vignette in the room, IΒ added loads of candles which I adore about Autumn – I can light candles again and make it all cosy! Impossible to do otherwise when it’s light until 10:30pm in the middle of summer here in the North West!
My gold skull is not just for Halloween around here – I love him all year long!
Now, for those of you who are regulars around here, you’ll have seen some of the changes I already made in my dining room but I couldn’t help but reshoot the room because it was soooo dark the day I took those and as it was nice and sunny this week, I wanted to share some new pictures. Typical Autumn weather here by the way – dark and rainy one minute, sunny and cool the next!
I recentlyΒ changed up the vignettes in here as we have a lot of work to do in here and I didn’t want to do anything major – so easy and inexpensive is definitely the way to go for a fresh look that doesn’t mean spending loads. Some dark cranberry eucalyptus is about as ‘Autumn’ as I went in here – what can I say, I like my bold palette!
And finally, in the bedroom, a little sneak peek of some of the changes in here! I took so many pictures that I didn’t really want to make this a ridiculously long post with all of them but I wanted to give you a little bit of an idea of the direction I went in here…
The biggest change being some new art flanking the bedside tables from Minted as well as a beautiful new thick woven throw that I received as an unexpected thank you gift from the lovely peeps at Within, which Meisha decided was immediately for her. Of course.
I also recently purchased that amazing textural animal wall hanging from HomeSense which I love – he brings a little bit of whimsy into the space and breaks up all the hard edges of the artwork in this room.
And here’s a little sneak of the new vignette on the chest of drawers as well.
I’ll be sharing all the details of the bedroom on my post on Monday so be sure to come back to see it all (or why not subscribe below?) because there’s lots more to share here!
So for now, that ends my fall home tour! What do you think of the little changes? You can see more of my home with lots of before and afters here.
Now, the next home on the tour is just a stunner and Jennifer loves colour and pattern as much as I do – go check out Dimples and Tangles next!
Hereβs the full tour if you want to start from the beginning – because, well,Β EYE CANDY!

I love all these new parts of your home I hadn’t seen!! Your living room is fabulous! That wallpaper is stunning and just brings it all to life. The blue in your bedroom walls is spectacular. I love it all!!
I’m so in love with how cozy and colorful your home is! Your styling is incredible β I’m so envious of that gold cobra! :D
That monochrome striped cushion sits well with the others – it looks like a zebra sitting between two leopards! x
I love all the rich, saturated colors in your home, Kimberly! So cozy and gorgeous.
Ahhh the goat hair rugs make the chairs look sooo inviting and the colours on that chunky cosy throw are wonderful (not surprised Meisha has claimed it)! It’s fantastic you have a Homesense nearby. When I had more time (read: before kids), I used to visit the Nottingham one all the time, just because. It’s such a treasure trove. Your little updates have made quite a difference, everything looks so cosy :-) xx
Ummm…you are delicious…I mean your home! Okay and you ;) Seriously, could this be anymore radiantly stunning?!! I wish I lived closer because I would invite myself over for drinks and then sit in every room and tell you all the things I adore most about it. xo
I’m totally digging the gold / moss green / cranberry / black and white combo in your living room. It’s so beautiful and it still amazes me how you only made a handful of changes between the teal look and the cranberry look and your living room is COMPLETELY different. Such warm colours and a big fat YES to candle light! I even have my candles lit right now, even though it’s 10am :D I know it’s a bit early, but I can’t wait to see your place for Christmas this year.
I LOVE your mix of color and pattern! So inspiring to see touch beautiful, bold touches!
Where did you get your sofa from I would love to buy one just like that it will work perfect in my home and what color is the sofa and if you have a name of the sofa and where did you get it from I would appreciate that thank you and the pillows as well you have beautiful taste take care
Hi Sandy, I purchased my chesterfield sofa from The Handmade Sofa Company about 8 years ago. It’s an olive green velvet although I don’t now remember the name of the exact fabric. http://www.handmadesofacompany.co.uk/product/hutton-chesterfield/
The leopard print cushions are from Stuck on Hue on Etsy:
