I didn’t want to think it could be possibly true. That thick horrible raised design wallpaper that I absolutely despised removing from my dressing room walls, the stuff that seems to be on every last-renovated-in-the-90’s wall… it seems to be back.
But hang on. Before you dismiss it like I did…
Oh god, I can’t even believe I’m saying this.
But Anaglypta is actually sort of beautiful.

Wot.
It’s weird being this old. Seeing trends that you swore you’d never want to see light of day again suddenly brought back, years later. It’s like seeing that ex you swore off of when you were 16, the one that broke your heart… re-emerge on Facebook when you are 35 and suddenly, you are both a little more grown up, he or she has taken good care of themselves, they look well… ok, they look better than well… they look HOT.
OH SHIT.
Yeah, it’s like that.

I mean, this was my rather ugly version of Anaglypta that we had to scrape off the dressing room walls….
Urghhh right?!
But no, this is so much prettier….

What do you think? Would you use this in your home? Are there any other trends that you can’t believe are back but you are sort of liking despite yourself? Do tell….
I personally like it…I think it all depends on how you decorate your space and how you incorporate it into your design schematic.
I'm exactly the same as you Kimblerly! I spent DAYS removing all of the horrible stuff from the walls of our house when we moved in (and to be fair – it was stained with tobacco and falling off so needed to be done) but I swore I'd never use the stuff myself.
3 years later and bored of looking at my undecorated plastered walls, I think these are gorgeous! I've done a complete 180
When we moved into our house a few months ago, I noticed one of the bedrooms had this all over the ceiling and above the picture rail (it's the ornate square patterned stuff). My husband thought I was mad for wanting to keep it but I love it!
When we first moved into our house the walls in our living room were really bad, so we saw some anaglypta in the Asda for 50p a roll. Yep it cost us a fiver to do the room. Those were the days. Xx
I am amazed (but loving!) that wood chip wallpaper is back. My flat is super-fashionable now – I've got it on almost every wall and ceiling. Jealous?

β¦can't blame a girl for trying.
I used some inexpensive textured wallpaper from Lowes a few years ago and it's amazing!
I love the turquoise one! I have to admit the one you had on the wall was pretty awful but styled right it can look pretty good!

Katie <3
