So here’s some exciting news… we’ve moved! If you want to view all the exciting transformations that we are making in our current house (a 4 Bed Victorian in the heart of Shrewsbury, Shropshire), just click here.
Welcome to the House Tour of our first home together in Cheadle Heath, just outside of Manchester, England! We lived in our Edwardian home (built in 1906) from June 2010 through March 2018.Β During the time we lived there, we tried our best to make it reflectΒ our own personalities (yes, Wayneβs as well!)Β without spending a lot of money and we tackled nearly all the work with our own two hands.Β So getting big style on a small budget (and getting our hands dirty in the process) is what weβre all about.Β Although I do believe every room should have at least one splurge to make it a little special!
You can view the whole house tour in my video here or keep scrolling for lots of before and after pictures!
Special thanks to Simon of iViewProperty and Mitchell Williams for their kind permission to use the footage on my blog.
Outside Front
We completely renovated the front patio by painting the door, replacing the hardware and in 2015, installing black and white Victorian floor tile.

Living Room
One of the first rooms to be tackled with new flooring and over the years has seen a couple of different looks. The last version saw a combination of raspberry and pinks with olive greens and lots of gold.

Dining Room
We remodelled this entire space in the spring of 2016. It had been both dark grey and dark blue over the years but I wanted a totally fresh new look so we relaid flooring, updated the fireplace and installed wall panels and architraves along with lots of other details.

Kitchen
The kitchenΒ was finally completed in August 2016 but weβd been updating it little by little for the last few years. This last push to completion included new tiles, repainted cupboard fronts and side panels, a new Minerva worktop, new black appliances and a gold sink and tap.

Master Bedroom
Dark, cosy and embracing a boho glam vibe, this room evolved over time. InΒ October 2017, we finally changed out the carpet and sanded and stained the original floorboards (which these pics don’t show but you can see more by clicking the link below).

Bathroom
We finished this room in the Spring of 2014 β a huge fully DIY undertaking including plumbing, lighting, tiling – the works! – but so worth the effort!

Home Office
We completed this room in 2015 as part of the One Room Challenge. It progressed from a virtually unused storage space to the spot where I spent my days blogging and doing freelance work.

Dressing Room
I gave this room a complete overhaul in 2014 β itβs the 3rd and tiniest bedroom (ie the βboxβ room) but my personal girlie haven!

The Man Glam Cave
The difficult DIY portion of this (tanking the space, plasterboard, adding flooring and making it habitable)Β was completed back in 2013 but in the Summer of 2017, the entire space was given a cosy dark and sexy boho glam look.

The Back Garden
Over the years, we extended and stained the decking near the back of the house and replaced the fencing, added lots of plants which have matured nicely over the years and in 2016, we added a pergola and decking to the backΒ of the garden.
